The Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) was honoured to invite Dr Nan Zhiguo to conduct a hybrid sharing session titled "Xinyao: From Stage to Classroom" on 3 Sep 2025. The three-hour sharing session attracted 45 teachers to learn Xinyao through a combination of text reading, song appreciation, and calligraphy demonstrations.

        Dr Nan shared the origins and development of Xinyao and introduced its significance as one of Singapore's most unique cultural icons. Also, Dr Nan has offered an in-depth analysis of the artistic value and educational potential of Xinyao. He encouraged teachers to incorporate Xinyao into their classroom practice, enriching Chinese language teaching with local cultural elements and enhancing the engagement and appeal of their lessons.

        Before the session ended, Dr Nan invited the Nanyang Primary School team to share their experiences of integrating Xinyao into Chinese teaching, providing valuable inspiration and insights for the teachers.
