National Children's Story Writing Competition a Tremendous Success

Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) and the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) co-organised the "Creativity, No Boundaries!" National Children's Story Writing Competition. The online submission of the competition was closed on 30 November 2021. We received overwhelming registration for student category. Approximately 1200 students from over 90 schools took part in this competition. They are from Primary 4-6 and secondary / high schools / junior colleges / polytechnics. There is also a number of works received from other Singaporeans and Permanent Residents for open category, which were written on their own or with others.

Meanwhile, the manuscripts are sending for review. The competition results will be announced on SCCL's Website in March 2022. Prize winners will each receive a trophy, a certificate and cash vouchers as rewards. Winning entries of the competition will be published as a series of Chinese graded readers for local primary students, and all Singapore primary schools will receive complimentary sets of the graded readers. Teachers can use the readers to cultivate students' interest in Chinese reading.
