Singapore Centre for Chinese Language participated as a community partner in the 2020 e-Mother Tongue Languages Symposium. The theme of the symposium was "Flourish in Our Mother Tongue Languages Wonderland". Besides promoting the "Singapore Kids' Picture Book Series" and "New Stars Island" Graded Picture Book Series, SCCL also shared some parent-child reading tips and reading promotion activities. SCCL's in-house Chinese Language Teaching Resources Platform was also introduced.

        Principle Master Teacher Mdm Lim Kwee Hua delivered a speech on "Happy Reading and Storytelling with Young Children". She shared different strategies and tips on reading and storytelling with young children and gave advice on how to select suitable reading materials and on how parents and educators can connect post-reading activities to children's daily lives. Such strategies can make reading fun and help to develop children's interest in reading Chinese.
