2018 National Preschool Teaching Aid Competition - Things in Everyday Life

Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) launched the "2018 National Preschool Teaching Aid Competition - Things in Everyday Life" in March. The objective is to encourage early childhood educators, students, parents and members of the public in Singapore to make use of items and materials that are readily available to design localized teaching aids for the teaching and learning of Chinese language. This competition is supported by Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), NTUC First Campus Co-Operative Ltd, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, SEED Institute, PAP Community Foundation (PCF) and Thumbs Up Little Junior. A briefing was conducted at SCCL on 4 March 2018. Key personnels from anchor operators, as well as representatives from supporting organisations, attended the session.

This competition is open to early childhood educators, students, parents or members of the public in Singapore. They may participate as an individual or as a group of no more than six people. Each individual or group can enter a maximum of two entries.

The result of the first round screening will be announced on 18 June 2018 (Monday) on SCCL's website, and qualifying participants will be notified by phone. Participants qualified for the finals will be required to present and demonstrate the use of the teaching aid on 30 June 2018 (Saturday) at SCCL. The award giving and presentation ceremony will be held on the occasion of the 5th International Conference on the Teaching and Learning of Chinese as a Second Language on 12 September 2018 (Wednesday) organized by the SCCL.

The submission closing date is 31 May 2018 (Thursday). For more details, please visit our website.
