On 22 May 2023, Master Teacher Tang Chun Chieh received the 2023 May Day Comrade of Labour Award from Mr Ng Chee Meng, Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).

  Mr Tang has been an executive committee member of the Singapore Chinese Teachers' Union since 2014 and has taken on the role of President of the organisation since 2018. Over the years, he has been devoted to promoting local Chinese education, fostering the professional growth of teachers, and caring for the well-being of fellow educators.
