2013 SCCL Chinese New Year Celebration

The SCCL Chinese New Year celebration lunch was held on 30 January 2013 amidst the homely ambience at the Bamboo Villa on SCCL premises.

SCCL Staff Welfare Committee Members used mandarin oranges and red packets to lay out the Chinese expression "ji xiang" (吉祥, meaning "auspicious") on a table, wishing everyone great prosperity for the coming year.

The lunch gathering started off with the tossing of "Yusheng", followed by Chinese new year greetings from SCCL Executive Director Dr Chin Chee Kuen. Taosting for the Centre, staff members clanked their glasses of sparkling juice and chanted "Yum Seng" (bottoms-up). They exchanged New Year blessings while Mandarin oranges and the newly designed SCCL red packets were distributed among them.

Everyone enjoyed themselves tremenduosly, the Bamboo Villa filled with joyful laughter.
