Professor Christine Goh, Former Director of NIE, Visits the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language
Professor Christine Goh, President's Chair Professor of the Nanyang Technological University, visited the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) from 13 to 24 January 2025.
SCCL Staff Invited as Speaker
On 28 November 2024, Dr Zhang Limei, Dean of Academic Affairs of the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language, was invited to participated in a Lecture & Talk Series on Chinese Language Teaching organised by the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and delivered an academic talk entitled "Engaging Students in Effective Feedback: Theory and Practice". Principal Master Teacher Dr Zheng Yingjiang was invited to participate in the Picture Book Reading Training Programme for Early Childhood Educators organised by the National Library Board. From 28 September 2024 to 22 February 2025, Dr Zheng conducted three mentoring sessions and provided preschool teachers with effective, flexible and practical strategies for guided reading of picture books.
New Staff
Mdm Lim Chun Ling and Ms Soh Khai Hoon were appointed as a Master Teacher for Chinese Language in January 2025 and has since joined the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL). Ms Xu Ming and Ms Li Jing hold Master's degrees of Arts in Teaching Chinese as an International Language from National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, and are currently serve as Research Associates at SCCL.
SCCL Activity
On 22 January 2025, Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) hosted its Chinese New Year Celebration.
