CPDD-NIE-SEAB-SCCL Sharing Forum 2018
The Quadripartite Sharing Forum was held at SCCL on 21 May 2018. Curriculum specialists, academia and researchers from MOE 's Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD), National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) participated in the forum. Participants discussed on topics related to the teaching and learning of Chinese language in Singapore and deliberated on how the four parties can synergize efforts to enhance effective teaching and learning of Chinese.
In the forum, SCCL lecturer Dr Yan Jing delivered a report on her research project "A Socio-Educational Perspective on Young Pre-Adolescents' Motivation to Learn Chinese as A Second Language in Singapore" and CPDD Assistant Director Dr Sim Seok Hwa shared on "Information and Communication Technologies."
The participants subsequently engaged in group brainstorming sessions that focused on key topics such as teachers' humanities literacy, schools' researches on teaching of Chinese language and the utilization of community Chinese language resources, before presenting the discussion results.
