This course introduces traditional Chinese festivals and related cuisine in a systematic manner. It aims to enhance participants' appreciation of the significance of Chinese festivals in particular Chinese culture in general.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Have a basic knowledge of the origins of major Chinese festivals and understand the meaning and significance of related stories.
Understand how food and festivals are related and have an enhanced sense of the the presence and influence of Chinese festival in modern society.
Apply knowledge from the course to communicate effectively and appropriately on different professional and social occasions.
