Objectives / Outcome of PD Activity
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Apply technology-enhanced approaches to Primary Chinese writing instruction to help students develop the ability to plan, express and revise their writing.
2. Identify key design elements for implementing “Assessment as Learning” in the writing classroom, and guide students to demonstrate learning evidence through planning, expressing, feedback, revision and reflection.
3. Use technology tools to enhance writing tasks, planning scaffolds, feedback and reflection activities, so as to support students’ thinking, expression and revision skills.
4. Design a classroom-ready technology-enhanced writing lesson or learning task that integrates writing development, Assessment as Learning and Emerging 21st Century Competencies.
Course Content / Synopsis
This course includes the following content:
1. Technology-enhanced approaches to Primary Chinese writing instruction that help students develop the ability to plan, express and revise their writing.
2. Strategies for implementing Assessment as Learning in the writing classroom, guiding students to demonstrate learning evidence through planning, expressing, feedback, revision and reflection.
3. The use of technology tools in designing writing tasks, planning scaffolds, feedback and reflection activities to support students’ thinking, expression and revision skills.
