Abstract
新加坡的华裔学生约占全国学生的百分之七十五,这些华裔学生的第一语言是英文,而中文是作为母语来学习的。本文探讨针对这些华裔小学生的阅读差异教学,首先简介阅读的理论背景,根据Chall(1983,1996) 的阅读发展阶段、Gagné (1985) 的阅读理解认知历程和Spear-Swerling 和Sternberg(1994)的阅读发展阶段,探讨识字/解碼阶段和文字上的理解阶段在阅读理解教学上的区别。其次,根据Tomlinson等人的差异教学理论,提供课堂阅读教学的差异性活动设计,如针对识字/解碼阶段的初学者,通过解码策略和指读法来帮助其进行字形的比对(matching)和语音的转录(recoding)等,以期提高其自动化解码能力;此階段在文本方面要提供不同难易度的文本和语音鹰架等。又如针对文字上的理解阶段的学习者,通过流利朗读鹰架、复述鹰架法和拼图法、对话阅读法等来帮助其进行大量的字义接触(lexicalaccess)和文法解析(parsing),以自动化形成命题和整合语句的意思,增强其文义理解能力。以冀华裔小学生经由此一"学习阅读"阶段的自动化技能练习,成功地进入"通过阅读来学习"的阶段。
