Abstract
The purpose of this study is to discuss the commonly seen phrase structures and error types of disyllabic locatives in Singapore context. This study investigates the lexical change and polysemy of "miàn" in spatial context, and based on the SCCL primary school Chinese textbook corpus, 5 commonly seen phrase structures of 6 disyllabic locatives with "miàn" as affix were being categorized. After which, an analysis of errors found in upper primary school students' essays relating to disyllabic locatives was being done. To conclude, this study provided a few suggestions to the writing of Chinese language syllabus.
