How to enhance the online courses' interaction like F2F classes

Course Overview

In online synchronous and livestream courses, teachers will not be able to see how students are actually performing. It is therefore all the more necessary to obtain instant student feedback. This course aims to equip teachers with the knowledge and techniques to have a better class control of their online courses.

  • Chinese as an L2: online teaching strategies

Course Level

  • Intermediate

Course Objective

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the features of online interaction.

  • Use relevant tools to facilitate teacher-student interaction in online courses.

  • Design and establish a suitable online interactive mode

  • Apply PDCA cycle to effectively collect data and respond to student questions and feedback

  • Enhance online teacher-student interaction and engage students through the use of appropriate tools

Course Content

The course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to online interactive tools

  • Applying the PDCA cycle and appropriate tools to collect and follow up on students' feedback online

  • Applying the PDCA cycle to respond to students' feedback

  • How to enhance teacher-student interaction in online courses and engage students

  • The differences between the current online classroom and the real classroom in terms of interaction,

  • The difficulties of online interaction and possible solutions.
