Course Objective

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1.Understand the baseline expectations of a CL examination paper.
2.Learn about the processes of selecting materials, setting questions, and developing answers scheme.
3.Know how to present the examination paper in a professional manner.


Course Outline

The course includes the following:
1.Introduce basic cognitive theory of setting CL examination paper.
2.Requirements for the different components of the paper: (Content, length, language style etc).
3.Examine the proper procedure of developing a CL paper.
4.Discuss and learn about the different question type of the paper and how to set valid questions.
5.Presentation and requirement of a standard examination paper.
6.Group work on setting and vetting certain sections of a paper followed by reflection and sharing.
