By the end of the module, the participants will be able to:
1.Acquire the basis theories and the fundamental concepts of teaching writing in a Self-directed Learning (SDL) mode.
2.Equip with the implementation principles and the effective strategies of teaching writing in a Self-directed Learning (SDL) mode.
3.Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the writing lessons in SDL mode.
The course content covers the following topics:
1.The concepts and the theories of Self-directed Learning (SDL).
2.The design of narrative writing teaching materials align to the CL Curriculum.
3.The approaches and strategies in planning and implementing SDL in teaching of narrative writing through quizzes and STAD strategy.
4.Observe the do's and dont's in SDL teaching of writing.
5.Lesson design, assessment and reflection on teaching of writing in SDL mode.
(Remarks: Each participant will be receiving a teaching toolkit after attending the course.)
