Course Objective

Course supported by CPDD.

This is a parallel course with 13356: STP Blended PLM Facilitating Differentiated Instructions (Sec CL). Teachers who have completed couese code 13356 should not apply.

At the end of the Workshop, participants will be able to:
1.Learn the basic theory of Differentiated Instruction (DI) with literature review.
2.Understand the DI principles connoted in the STP framework.
3. Learn how to use DI related Teaching Action (TAs) and Considerations for CL teaching.
4. Discuss and reflect about a DI classroom enactment or lesson plan.
5. Design or modify a DI lesson plan and share with peers.

Course Outline

The course will cover the following topics:
1. Basic theory of Differentiated Instruction (DI) and literature review.
2. DI principles in the STP framework.
3. DI classroom practices in the various teaching areas in STP:
-- Considering Learners’ Profiles
-- Deciding on Instructional Strategies
-- Deciding on Teaching Aids and Learning Resources
-- Exercising Flexibility
-- Pacing and Maintaining Momentum
-- Setting Meaningful Assignments
4. Reflect and discuss classroom DI lesson design, assessment and feedback strategy.
5. Design or modify a DI lesson plan.
