By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1.Understand what is multimodal storytelling for critical thinking, i.e., engaging students in creating and refining a multimodal dilemma story with images and narrations, and crtically co-examining their views and choices in the story.
2.Familiarize with its design principle, classroom enactment and assessment.
3.Familiarize with teachers' role as facilitators, relevant strategies and practice.
4.Familiarize with the strategies and practice of developing critical thinking.
5.Master the relevant ICT tools.
The course includes the following:
1.The concept and practice of multimodal storytelling for critical thinking, i.e., how to engage students in creating and refining a multimodal dilemma story with images and narrations, and how to engage them in crtically co-examining their views and choices in the story.
2.Hands-on practice on the softwares for multimodal storytelling.
3.Hands-on practice on designing a personal or group multimodal story integrated with problem framing activities.
4.Discussion on the relevant design principles, teachers' role and activities, and assessment.
