After completing the course, the participants will be able to:
1.Understand the development of oral proficiency of P1 students.
2 Know the different ways of oral interactive activities and their pedagogical rationale.
3 Apply various strategies to conduct interactive oral activities on the basis of differentiated instructions.
4 Design targeted oral activities to meet students' different oracy needs.
The course will cover the following main areas:
1.The framework of oral proficiency development in 2015 Primary 1 textbooks.
2.The types of interactive oral activities for lower primary students and their pedagogical rationale.
3.The strategies to teach oral interactive skills through differentiated instructions.
4.The design and conduct student-tailored oral activities according to students’ different needs.
(Remarks: A teaching toolkit CD will be given to participants.)
A basic understanding of Oral Proficiency Diagnostic Tool (OPDT)
