Course Objective

Course supported by CPDD.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1.Understand the principles, theory and methods of communication and interactive strategies.
2.Understand the three modes of communication: interpretive, interactive and presentational modes.
3.Apply the spoken and written Interaction skills in teaching the 2011 CL syllabus.
4.Assess students' spoken and written Interaction skills via video and iMTL portal.


Course Outline

The course includes the following:
1.The key features of spoken and written interaction.
2.The interaction modification, turntaking and discourse markers (DMs).
3.The teaching and assessing the spoken and written interaction based on videos and iMTL Portal.
4.Provide the scoring guidelines and the rubrics, the sample lessons and hands-on materials.
5.Designing and developing a lesson plan based on 2011 New Syllabus and textbooks.
6.Implementation of spoken and written interaction for CL based on video and iMTL Portal.
(Remarks: A Teaching package CD, includes lesson plans, activities, presentation slides etc will be given to pariticipants.)
