In schools, how do teachers, principals and parents access the effectiveness of the curriculum? How do we evaluate the learning progresses of children and present the final learning outcome of the lesson plan? The purpose of teaching assessment and evaluation is to answer the previously mentioned questions, and it is also the last part of curriculum design.

In this course, among many assessment methods, practical assessment, which is the easiest for teachers to implement, will be selected as the main training focus. Any assessment method that emphasises actual performance behavior can be called practical assessment. This type of assessment method is very diversified, it consists of written report, essay, speech, practical implementation, experiment, work display, portfolio evaluation, etc.

The course allows the participants to discuss the fundamental concepts and practise implementing the assessment methods. What the participants learned through this course will help them in accessing their teaching outcome and the learning outcome of students.

Through this course, the participants will learn to:

  • Briefly describe the pre-school teaching assessment methods
  • Describe the characteristics of emerging issues in the early childhood teaching assessment practices
  • Analyse the theory and actual practice of assessment and evaluation.
